Behind the Scenes: How We Craft the Perfect Alcohol-Free Drink
The heart of our production process isn't found in a lab or factory—it starts around our family dining table. It’s where ideas are brainstormed, samples are tasted and everyone is involved in bringing the drinks to life.
Each of our flavours is crafted to showcase the essence of Australia’s native ingredients. We start by selecting the native fruit or herb we want to feature, and through testing, trials, and countless samples, we refine the perfect blend. For example, when working with Mountain Pepperberry, we explore it’s subtle spice and determine what complementary flavours will work well.
Our teenage children are involved in the taste-testing process as well as other aspects of the drink creation such as coming up with the 3 letter name for our drinks (which can be more difficult than it sounds!) Their input and honest feedback often give us unique insight.
From there, we work with a team of food scientists to refine and balance the flavours. When we are happy we then send the samples off to a lab to have the nutritional panel finalised.
Then comes the label design, which is an exciting process in itself…but that’s a story for another blog!
We feel privileged to work with these remarkable Australian native fruits and herbs, recognising the history and cultural significance they hold. For millennia, First Nations people have understood the unique properties of these ingredients. By incorporating them into our drinks, we aim to share some of that heritage, offering beverages that don’t just taste good but tell a story of Australia’s land, culture, and tradition.
